"C25" Nissan Serena

The "C25" was the third generation model of Nissan Serena introduced in 2005 and sold mainly on the Japanese domestic market until 2010. It was never officially available in UK / Europe.

The Serena, was highly acclaimed in Japan for its class-leading interior roominess, excellent outward visibility, flexible seating configurations and driving ease which made it a sales success - Japan's best selling minivan / MPV.

Only available with one engine and transmission setup - the Serena uses a 1997cc (2.0) MR20DE petrol engine with CVT XTronic transmission. However, both 2WD and 4WD options are available.

There are various trim options and the most popular we import is the highest specification "Highway Star" grade which was introduced in 2006. The factory aero kit makes this model of Serena slightly larger and it therefore carries the "CC25" or "CNC25" chassis prefix depending on 2WD or 4WD configuration.

A facelift was carried out in 2008 introducing a new choice of exterior colour options, adapative Xenon headlamps as standard and outside mirrors incorporating turn signal lamps. The facelift Serena also featured a variety of interior enhancements, including revised instrument panel with standard Fine Vision instrumentation and new interior trim. Special attention was paid to the revised Serena’s seats, which feature new front- and second-row head restraints and seat cushions and new seat fabric.

We hope this section of our website will give an informative overview of the "C25" Serena answering many FAQ's - but please do not hesitate to contact us regarding any specific questions our website has failed to answer.

 Insurance

Although the Serena is insurable via many mainstream companies - we have found that specialist brokers are able to give better customers service and have the product knowledge to make sure you are insured correctly. Usually, their premiums are also amongst the most competitive with a specific Serena policy being available with some brokers.

There are several brokers who operate specialist schemes and who have based the cars on their own grouping system.

We have found that many of our Serena customers choose to add modifications - such as the Touring Pack which add versatility allowing it to be used as a camper / overnight van. This can sometimes raise issues for insurance. Mark Richard Insurance Brokers have insurers that will recognise these modifications / accessories and add no additional cost to the insurance premium.

To obtain a quotation for insurance, we can recommend the following specialist brokers:-

Adrian Flux – 0800 369 8950

 Key Facts

- Japan's best selling mini-van! In the UK we refer to the mini-van as the "MPV" - multi purpose vehicle. This sector of vehicle is huge in Japan - outselling almost all other vehicle types.

- Extremely versatile. The Serena was designed to appeal to a diverse customer base.

 Service and Parts

The issue with the Serena never officially being sold in the UK has always voiced concerns with current and potential owners regarding spare parts availability.

Almost all the parts you do not physically see are shared with other Nissan models built on a global platform to save cost. The majority of Serena mechanical / electrical parts are shared with other Quashqai and X-Trail models. Therefore, these parts are usually available from suppliers on a same day basis.

If a unique part is required and only available in Japan, it can be supplied in around 5 days if in stock at the factory.

There are also companies specialising in the supply of used parts in the UK that has proved popular to save cost - typically body parts like wing mirrors which can be even supplied in body colour subject to availability with next day delivery.
