"Z12" Nissan Cube
The "Z12" Nissan Cube was the model that took the car global - the ambition was to replicate the success story in all world markets. Introduced in Japan late 2008, the Cube started to make appearance in the USA and Europe during late 2009 for 2010 model year.
Dealerships in Europe had expressed concern about the Cube only being available with an automatic transmission. Therefore, design changes were made to allow manual transmission for export models most notably removal of the front bench seat replaced with normal chairs. Still built in Japan, the strong Japanese YEN and slow sales resulted Nissan discontinuing the Cube in 2011. The car was still produced for the North America / Canada market until 2014.
The Japanese domestic model is still produced today and retains many of the desirable features of the 2nd Generation "Z11" Cube that were dropped from export models. The Japan "Z12" retains the bench seat due to being only available with an automatic transmission - retaining the column shift gear selection. A wider range of models and colour combinations have also been offered on the Japanese market.

The majority of Cube mechanical / electrical parts are shared with other Nissan models. Therefore, these parts are usually available from suppliers on a same day basis.
If a unique part is required and only available in Japan, it can be supplied in around 5 days if in stock at the factory.
There are also companies specialising in the supply of used parts in the UK that has proved popular to save cost - typically body parts like wing mirrors which can be even supplied in body colour subject to availability with next day delivery.
